Emilia Romagna is famous throughout the world as
one of Italy's most hospitable regions, with its sea and
its nature, offering cycling enthusiasts a variety of terrain
that ranges from verdant plains to gently rolling hills
and the mountains of the Apennines with exciting gradients
that make this region a paradise for touring cyclists. With
its wealth of traditions, Emilia Romagna is
also a notable region of art and monuments, and pedalling
amid castles and fortresses along medieval roads immersed
in a dreamlike atmosphere is indeed a rare pleasure. |

From Rimini, Riccione
and Cattolica, cyclists can set out for
rides through the countryside of Romagna and the Marche. In just
five minutes the Malatesta Hills are waiting,
with a territory rich in uphill and downhill gradients that offers
cyclists new and unexpected panoramas. More experienced bikers can
reach nearby Tuscany, or attempt the 1423-metre climb to the monument
on Mount Carpegna. Other excellent destinations
suitable for all capacities are Urbino,
San Leo, San Marino,
Verucchio and Gradara.
A little further north we find
Bellaria, Gatteo a Mare
and Cesenatico, the home of Marco
Pantani. Polenta, Ciola
and Barbotto are some of the best hills
to be climbed locally, making the "Nove Colli"
road race famous throughout the world. This event, together with
Cervia's "Via del Sale" race,
the Agolanti Road Race and
Riccone's Coppi-Bartali Race attract thousands of
road cyclists every year.

A

is particularly beautiful and offers visitors not only traditional
cuisine but also the friendliness and wisdom of farming culture.
Visitors shouldn’t forget the Fellinian charm and atmosphere
that pervade the beaches and quays when the sun umbrellas are still
stored away and the summer is just a distant memory. It’s
the best time to create a more intimate and enchanted relationship
with the sea and enjoy its poetry.

By car:
Highway: A14 – Exit: Rimini Nord
At the motorway exit continue straight on, keep to the right
at the first crossroads and continue as far as the roundabout.
At the roundabout, turn left (3/4 of the way round) towards
the sea. Continue along Via Tolemaide until the next roundabout
and then turn right (onto Via Popilia). Continue straight on
and after 2 km, turn right at the crossroads (Via Orsoleto).
At the bottom of the hill, turn left then right after the bridge.
Continue for 300 metres, then turn left into Via P. Marconi
(you will see the sign “Viserba” above the road).
Turn left at the end of the road (Via Eugenio Curiel). At the
traffic lights turn right under the subway (Via G. Genghini)
and continue as far as the promenade. Turn left (you will find
the sign “Viserbella” above the road). The fifth
side road on the left is Via V. Canuti (opposite Bagno Rossi
no. 43) and the Park Hotel Serena.
By train:
Rimini railway station (recommended).
Once outside the station (do not cross the road) you will find
the bus terminal on the left.
Take the no. 4 bus and get off at bus stop no. 21. Continue
for 50 metres and the first road on the left is Via V. Canuti
and Park Hotel Serena.
